The final year students of Fashion Designing Institute at iNIFD Ahmedabad designed and showcased unique and stunning garments using Macramé & Emboss Techniques under the subject of “Creative Embroideries and Embellishment” under the guidance of Ms Naimishi Shashtri.
Macramé is an Arabic word that signifies an ornamented fringe or trimmings, an adopted term for a certain hand work also known as knotted fringes or Mexican lace which if formed through knotting, inter-weaving and tying thread together.
The final year Fashion Design Course students of iNIFD Ahmedabad, used creative embroidery and raised emboss patterns with the props like tea cups & knots of cotton threads. They styled their garments in a very unique way each having a different thought process under the guidance of Ms Rupal Jain.
They also demonstrated an ingenious range of garments designed using Embossing Technique.
Embossing is a technique to highlight one’s creative side by raising images and textures through embossed patterns against the background.
“They designed draped and semi-draped garments by forming amazing embossed effects for which they have Used Buttons, Sequins, Beads, Paper Cups and many more Interesting Materials. They used Rayon, Butter Crepe, Gamthi Cotton, Net, Silk, Sheer Fabrics in Beautiful Moth Hues to design these stunning garments. The final year students of iNIFD Ahmedabad Institute designed a trendy costume by doing 500-1000 knots on the same piece of cotton!” said by Ms Naimishi Shashtri faculty of Fashion Designing.
The emblazoned garments were demonstrated by the top-rated Fashion Design Institute of India, iNIFD Gurukul, Ahmedabad through a Ramp Walk on 3rd September,2019.
